Just over three weeks before the referendum scheduled for 27 June 2021, the last two major information meetings on the planned merger of the municipalities of Grosbous and Wal were held on Tuesday evening in the Centre Brasilien in Grevels, and on Thursday evening in the sports hall in Grosbous.

Mayors Christiane Thommes-Bach (Wal) and Paul Engel (Grosbus), the Syvicol president Emile Eicher and the Minister of the Interior, Taina Bofferding, spoke and took questions from residents about the proposed merger, also in connection with finances.

At both meetings, a short film was shown about the planned merger, in which residents spoke how they felt about it. "Together we are strong!" was a core statement of the film.

Referring to the benefits of merging municipalities, Minister Bofferding stated that she sees “more services for citizens”. They will have the last word in 23 days time when they decide whether the two municipalities will move together in the future or not.
