On Wednesday 28 October 2026, Luxembourg champions FC Differdange 03 suffered their first defeat in the UEFA Futsal Champions League Main Round, losing 5-3 to Armenian team Unisport in their second Group 6 match at the Centre Sportif John Scheuren in Oberkorn.

As in their opening match against Greek team Doukas, Differdange took an early lead. Beto opened the scoring in the third minute following a pass from Rúben Reis. However, the hosts were unable to maintain their advantage, with Putrus Vasilev equalising for Unisport just two minutes later.

Both teams continued to look for opportunities before Jorge Fernandes' team regained the lead in the thirteenth minute. Papa Unjanque found the net to make it 2-1, a scoreline Differdange managed to maintain until half-time.

The second half produced five more goals, but it was the visitors who took control of the match. Artur Melkonyan equalised for Unisport in the second minute after the restart, before Marquinhos put the Armenian team ahead for the first time in the seventh minute of the second half.

Unisport extended their advantage three minutes later through Garegin Mashumyan, making it 4-2 with just over ten minutes remaining.

Differdange were unable to reduce the deficit as the second half progressed, and Mihran Dermenjyan added a fifth goal for the visitors with just over a minute remaining.

The hosts managed a late response when Daniel Garrido Oliveira scored in the final minute, reducing the deficit to 3-5. However, there was insufficient time for Differdange to mount a comeback.

Following the match, Differdange player Rafael Antunes Redivo said the team had given everything and performed well but had failed to convert several opportunities: "I think we gave everything today. I think the team played a very, very good match.” He also added that Unisport had taken their chances, while Differdange had missed several opportunities, which he considered the main difference between the two sides.

Following the defeat, Differdange dropped to third place in Group 6, with Unisport moving into second. Lithuania's Kauno Žalgiris remained top of the group with four points from two matches after drawing 4-4 with Doukas (Greece).

The Luxembourg champions will face group leaders Kauno Žalgiris in their final group match on Friday 30 October 2026, with kick-off scheduled for 19:00 at the Centre Sportif John Scheuren in Oberkorn.
