United Instruments of Lucilin will be playing two concerts at Casino Luxembourg - Forum of Contemporary Art, one on Thursday 5 December 2019 at 20:00 and another on Sunday 8 December 2019 at 11:00.

Inspired by the "If Then Else" exhibition by the LAb[au] collective, currently on display at Casino Luxembourg, United Instruments of Lucilin will be presenting a selection of contemporary musical pieces whose compositional approach or sound result is part of a process of reflection led by the artists themselves.

On the programme are works inspired by the use of graphic notation leaving the performer facing a certain number of decisions in the play by composer William Engelen (Netherlands) or the randomness of a board game transcribed into music by Catherine Kontz (Luxembourg), among others.

Contemporary musical creation involves many artists working on the transcription of a language, the almost mathematical declination of musical motifs, the incorporation of randomness into the composition process or semi-guided improvisation. These are the steps that Lucilin's musicians will present in a concert at the very heart of the "If Then Else" exhibition.

Tickets cost €8 or €1.50 with a Kulturpass and can be reserved via email: visites@casino-luxembourg.lu or tel.: 225-045.
