Luxembourg-born singer-songwriter Josh Island will present his first EP "One" on stage at Brasserie K116 on Wednesday 24 April 2019 at 21:00

Josh Island, a Dutch singer-songwriter born in Luxembourg, combines intimate melodies of songwriter with folk inspired by his story, a touch of jazz and a warm blues atmosphere. He released "One" in March 2018.

Josh began his career on the local music scene at the age of 16 and was quickly recognised for his vocal presence, organic folk selection and entertaining staging. This exciting mix has led him to support shows for a range of international acts, including Mighty Oaks, Charlie Cunningham and Alex Vargas and to share festivals with stars such as The Lumineers and Jake Bugg. Now 20 years old, Josh continues to tweak his sound by creating stories and melodies for the audience and the stages where his young career takes him. He is as comfortable solo as with his group on international stages or in intimate salons.

The young songwriter has just released his new song "Human Flow", inspired by Ai Wei Wei's documentary of the same name, which documents the movements of migrants in many parts of the world. The artist's story tells the tale of a man who has left for Europe in search of a better life, leaving his wife and child behind in their home country. The song was recorded in Paris and produced by Have A Cigar Production.

The Brasserie K116 offers quality dinner-concerts from artists from Luxembourg and the Greater Region every Wednesday of the month at 21:00. As always, the concert is free.
