Ian Paice, the drummer of Deep Purple, will play a concert on 13 March 2019 at the opderschmelz cultural centre in Dudelange, from 19:30.

Legendary drummer Ian Paice is the only remaining founding member of the world-famous rock band Deep Purple. From February 2019, he will be touring with the band Pur.pendicular to present his show "Deep Purple Best of Classics". Ian Paice will be on stage, close to his audience and in a real club atmosphere - without screens or video. The show will feature performances of some of the best-known Deep Purple classics, from Child In Time and Black Night to Smoke On The Water and Hush.

Deep Purple is arguably one of the most innovative rock bands of all time since the 1970s. Their music is characterised by a balance between ingenious musicality and monumental simplicity. Beyond Deep Purple, Paice has also played with Whitesnake, Gary Moore and solo projects with Jon Lord, Paul McCartney and Pete York from the Spencer Davis band.

Meanwhile, the Pur.pendicular group, which Ian Paice and Joe Lynn Turner have called "the world's best Deep Purple tribute band," has the ability to convey the unique magic of Deep Purple.

The support act of the night will be The Velvet.

Tickets cost €25 (presale, plus fees), €30 at the door or free with the Culture Pass. These are available online at www.opderschmelz.lu.
