The El Violin Latino Quartet will be performing in the German Consulate General New York on Wednesday 20 April.
The quartet features Luxembourg born and raised musician and percussionist Jérôme Goldschmidt who has played with a variety of diverse groups, including Tito Puente Orchestra, Mong Santamaria, Chico O’Farrill’s Afro-Cuban Big Band.
He has been playing with German-born/New York City resident violinist, bandleader and composer Gregor Huebner for over ten years including at Luxembourg House. In 2014, the Consulate General of Luxembourg in New York presented Huebner’s newly-created El Violin Latino Quartet at Something Jazz Club.
With the passion for Latin music, Gregor Huebner, has been a member of both tango groups and jazz formations and much more. His first recording “El Violin Latino”, was released in 2011, that was highly regarded in both Europe and the US in publications including the Wall Street Journal. The second album “El Violin Latino-No.2” is a collaboration with musicians from Cuba, Brazil, and Argentina.
The other two members of the quartet are the German pianist Klaus Muller and the Brazilian bassist Itaiguara Brandao.
