Luxembourg’s National Roads Administration has announced upcoming roadworks on the A3 motorway between the Croix de Gasperich and the Croix de Bettembourg interchanges.

As part of the ongoing widening of the A3 motorway, the Roads Administration will carry out works requiring a full closure of this section from around 20:00 on Friday 24 October until around 04:00 on Monday 27 October 2025. To limit the impact on weekday traffic, the works will take place over the weekend.

The following closures will be in place during this period:

  • the A3 towards Luxembourg between the Croix de Bettembourg and the Croix de Gasperich;
  • the slip roads at the Croix de Bettembourg coming from the A13 and heading towards Luxembourg;
  • the access ramp at the Livange interchange coming from the N31 and heading towards Luxembourg;
  • from around 21:30 on Friday, the A3 towards Metz between the Gluck roundabout and the Croix de Bettembourg;
  • the slip roads at the Croix de Gasperich coming from the A1 and A6 and heading towards Metz;
  • the access ramp at the Livange interchange coming from the N31 and heading towards Metz.

Traffic coming from the A3 and A13 and heading towards Luxembourg will be diverted via the A13 towards Esch-sur-Alzette, the Esch junction, the A4 towards Luxembourg, the Croix de Cessange and the A6 towards the Croix de Gasperich.

Traffic coming from the A1 and A6 and heading towards Metz will be diverted via the A6 towards Belgium, the Croix de Cessange, the A4 towards Esch-sur-Alzette, the Esch junction, the A13 towards Schengen and the Croix de Bettembourg.

Traffic coming from the N31 and heading towards Luxembourg will be diverted via the N31, CR159, CR132, N13, the Burange interchange, the A13 towards Esch-sur-Alzette, the Esch junction, the A4 towards Luxembourg, the Croix de Cessange and the A6 towards the Croix de Gasperich.

Traffic coming from the N31 and heading towards Metz will be diverted via the N31, CR159, CR132, N13, the Burange interchange, the A13 towards Schengen and the Croix de Bettembourg.

Traffic coming from the Gluck roundabout or CR231 and heading towards the motorway network will be diverted via the N4A, N4 and the Leudelange-Nord interchange.

Access to the Berchem service area will be closed from 18:30 on Friday 24 October until 04:00 on Monday 27 October 2025.

As preparatory works will begin several hours before the closure, traffic disruptions are expected in the late afternoon on Friday.
