Traffic Lane Closure on Red Bridge Ahead of Grand Ducal Accession Festivities

On Thursday 2 October 2025, the City of Luxembourg (VdL) announced that the overtaking lane of the Grand Duchess Charlotte Bridge towards Kirchberg will be closed to traffic from Friday 3 October at 05:00 until Sunday 5 October 2025 at 18:00.

To ensure the proper execution of preparatory works linked to the festivities on the Red Bridge marking the accession to the throne of Grand Duke Guillaume, the VdL and the Bridges and Roads Administration have advised road users to expect disruptions and to use alternative routes where possible.

Although the bridge will remain accessible from the Schuman Tunnel and the Schuman roundabout, the use of alternative routes is recommended. Motorists are required to comply with the regulations in force, including the maximum speed limit of 30 km/h. The Grand Ducal Police will monitor compliance with the Highway Code.
