The Grand Ducal Police have announced that a serious road accident took place on the N14 on Friday afternoon.
At around 12:30 on Friday 30 June 2023, there was an accident at an intersection of the N14 near Stegen, in eastern Luxembourg.
According to initial information, a motorist who was driving from Folkendange in the direction of Stegen ignored right of way and hit a motorcyclist who was travelling towards Diekirch.
The motorcyclist was taken to hospital by rescue helicopter after suffering serious injuries.
The driver, who had fled the scene of the accident, was found by the police helicopter in a car park in Ettelbruck and was arrested by order of the public prosecutor's office. She will be brought before an examining judge on Saturday 1 July 2023.
The road was closed to traffic as part of the accident investigation, leading to traffic disruption.
