ACL Sport has announced the return of the European Hillrace Eschdorf, set to take place on Saturday 4 and Sunday 5 May 2024.
After a five-year break linked to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Union des Pilotes Luxembourg, under the leadership of new President Laurent Rausch, is back with the 32nd edition of the European Hillrace Eschdorf.
As reported by ACL Sport, this event is both "recognised" and "popular" beyond Luxembourg's borders. This year, a total of 190 drivers from eight countries (Luxembourg, Germany, France, Belgium, Austria, Switzerland, Slovenia and Poland) and as many vehicles will take on the 1,850 km route. The track is both "very technical" and "extremely fast" in the middle, leading to the small Ardennes village.
ACL Sport added that most of the participating drivers will be looking to score "valuable points" in the Luxembourg, German and Belgian championships during this round in Eschdorf.
ACL Sport also commented on its own contribution to the event's comeback, by taking charge, among other things, of validating the special regulations, approving the route and the safety plan, granting an organisational permit and supporting the race organiser throughout the process.
For spectators, the festivities will kick off on Saturday at 09:15 with the three test runs and on Sunday from 08:30 for almost nine hours of "non-stop motorsport spectacle" each day.
ACL Sport and the race organiser noted that all parking spaces are located at the entrance to the village of Eschdorf in the immediate vicinity of the paddock and the upper area of the race route. Parking in the start area along the main three-lane road is prohibited. The lower part of the route is accessible either on foot via the spectator path or by shuttle bus.
