On Monday 19 January 2026, Luxembourg’s Ministry of the Economy announced two new calls for projects to support companies in financing charging stations for electric vehicles (EVs).

According to the ministry, the aim of the project is to avoid the emergence of gaps in the national network and to prepare for the gradual electrification of heavy transport.

The first call for projects, with a maximum budget of €7 million, targets alternating current (AC) charging stations, with slow charging capacity up to 22 kilowatts, suitable for urban and peri-urban areas or locations close to shopping centres. Projects must include publicly accessible or private charging stations with a charging capacity of at least 175 kilowatts. Selected companies will be able to benefit from a subsidy covering up to 50% of their investment.

This call is open from Thursday 15 January until 15 June 2026.

The second call for projects, with a maximum budget of €5 million, targets charging infrastructure dedicated to heavy commercial vehicles in categories N2-3 and M2-3, meaning vehicles with a maximum authorised mass exceeding 3.5 tonnes, designed for the transport of goods or people and whose demand is expected to increase significantly in the coming years. Projects must include publicly accessible or private charging stations with a charging capacity of at least 175 kilowatts. Selected companies will be able to benefit from a subsidy covering up to 70% of their investment.

This call is open from Thursday 15 January until 31 March 2026.

Luxembourg's Minister of the Economy, SMEs, Energy and Tourism, Lex Delles, underlined: “These two calls for projects aim to strengthen the electric charging network in the Grand Duchy and to anticipate future needs, particularly for commercial vehicles, for whose acquisition a separate call for projects will be launched shortly.”

Interested companies, regardless of their size, are invited to submit their projects via MyGuichet.lu. The specifications detailing the conditions for participation are available on the website.
