On Tuesday 18 June 2024, the first Uber and WEBTAXI trip in the Grand Duchy was undertaken by Yuriko Backes, Luxembourg's Minister for Mobility and Public Works, at Place Clairefontaine in Luxembourg City.

The event marked the official launch of the collaboration between the Uber platform and WEBTAXI. From now on, customers will be able to use the Uber app to call a vehicle from WEBTAXI, making this the first time the Uber app becomes available in Luxembourg.

Among the attendees of this event were: Laurent Stils, Director at Uber; Emile Weber, CEO of WEBTAXI and Emile Weber Group; and Michael Craveiro, Director of WEBTAXI. The individuals posed for a picture with Minister Backes before joining her on the first Uber trip in the Grand Duchy.

WEBTAXI drivers will now be able to benefit from international and local Uber users, which amount to over 150 million per month. This is also an opportunity for customers to use Uber app features such as emergency assistance buttons, real-time ride sharing with others, and more. The price of the journey will also now be displayed before its execution. The WEBTAXI app will continue functioning to offer customers service options from a variety of fleets, including limousines and all-electric vehicles.
