On Monday 28 September 2015, the Ville de Luxembourg will open the new season of its 'Sports For All' programme.

The programme has been designed to meet a wide range of interests, ages, and skill levels, allowing both fit and non-sporty children, adults and seniors, as well as over 5,000 regulars, to choose from a colourful area of more than 260 sport-leisure, sport-fitness and sport-health classes in rooms, pools and the great outdoors.

The various courses will be held from 28 September to 17 July 2015, from morning to night seven days a week, at 30 different sites across the city.

The Youth Programme, for ages 12 to 16, is free and includes over 25 sports activities, such as break-dance, dance fitness, skateboarding, indoor football, volleyball, badminton, table tennis, aikido, shooting, archery and jogging.

For the second time, the Service des Sports will be organising Zumba classes for children aged 7-11, as well as for 12-16 year olds every Thursday afternoon in Cessange. Also as in previous years, special courses dedicated for 8-12 year ols with weight issues and 12-26 year olds with or without specific needs will also be offered.

Course participation is free for all young people, but registration with parental permission is required at the Sports Service.

The sports offer for adults also includes a multitude of classes, including gym fitness, ski fitness, dance fitness, bodyshape, noon gym, relaxing gym, stretching, water gymnastics, aqua jogging, hydrogym, machine weights-training, jogging (beginner, soft and advanced), Nordic walking, self defense, badminton, volleyball, table tennis and more.

The ninety available classes for adults also involve dance fitness, fitness fiesta, taijiquan, qi gong, sitting volleyball and long-distance training.

The Service des Sports also wishes to engage people aged 55 and over with activities specially adapted to specific needs and physical ability. These include walking and Nordic walking, aqua gym, light fitness, stretching, gentle weight training, badminton, dancing for seniors, sports, ski gymnastics, bowling and ice chess.

From April, the courses offered will be expanded with the inclusion of a special programme entitled 'Outdoor Sport for Elders', involving boules and pétanques, golf, jogging, cycling and canoeing.

One course for each seasion is offered to seniors aged 55 and over for free, but registration is required.
