On Tuesday 27 October 2026, Luxembourg's Laboratoire national de santé (LNS; National Health Laboratory) announced plans to expand its genetic consultation facilities and strengthen its medical team in response to growing demand for genetic consultations.
Starting on Monday 2 November 2026, the LNS will carry out renovation works over several weeks at its premises in Dudelange. The works will expand the area dedicated to genetic consultations and create an additional consultation room, increasing the service's capacity to accommodate patients.
During the renovation period, clinical genetic consultations normally held at the LNS in Dudelange will temporarily move to the premises of the Directorate of Health at 2 Rue Thomas Edison, L-1445 Strassen.
According to the LNS, patients with appointments already scheduled during this period have been informed of the temporary arrangements by letter. For new appointments, the consultation location will be specified in the appointment confirmation letter.
Alongside the renovation works, the LNS is progressively strengthening its clinical genetics medical team to expand its expertise and support the development of its services.
The LNS operates under Luxembourg’s Ministry of Health and Social Security and employs more than 400 people. It provides diagnostic services in medical biology, microbiology, forensic medicine and health protection, alongside the National Center of Pathology and the National Center of Genetics.
