On Friday 14 January 2022, Luxembourg's Ministry of Health reported 2,103 new COVID-19 (coronavirus) infections; there have been 934 fatalities (three new deaths since Thursday) resulting from the virus to date.

2,103 Luxembourg residents tested positive on Friday from a total of 6,370 tests carried out the day before, representing 331.32 people per 100,000 inhabitants. The positivity rate was 33.03%. Thursday 13 January 2022 marked the record daily high of 2,312 new cases.

The average daily increase (over a 7-day period) is currently 1590.71. 

A total of 63 people are in hospital with the virus, including eighteen patients in intensive care. 

There are currently 20,843 active infections known, whilst a total of 101,563 people have recovered from the virus to date. The effective reproduction rate in Luxembourg stands at 1.10.

A total of 1,150,376 vaccinations have been carried out in Luxembourg to date (470,430 first doses, 410,604 second doses, 269,342 additional doses). A total of 451,905 people are now fully vaccinated.

The incidence rate (per 100,000 inhabitants) for unvaccinated individuals was 499.08; for vaccinated individuals, this was 257.50. These figures only take into consideration people who returned a positive PCR test.
