At its meeting on Friday 7 January 2022, the cabinet of the Luxembourg government addressed two significant aspect of COVID-19 vaccination boosters.
Firstly, the ministers agreed to reduce the time limit for the booster after receiving a two-dose vaccine (Moderna, BioNTech / Pfizer) and a “Mix & Match” type scheme (AstraZeneca in 1st dose and RNA vaccine in 2nd dose) from four months to three months for adult in Luxembourg.
In addition, the cabinet decided to open up the possibility of a booster vaccination to adolescents between the ages of twelve and seventeen years. In this case, the cabinet decided that the Luxembourg state will take direct responsibility for any adverse reaction in order to relieve the doctor or health professional who vaccinates it of this responsibility (liability).
