On Thursday 30 December 2021, Luxembourg's Ministry of Health reported 1,230 new COVID-19 (coronavirus) infections; there have been 912 fatalities (one new death since Wednesday) resulting from the virus to date.

1,230 Luxembourg residents tested positive on Tuesday from a total of 4,444 tests carried out the day before, representing 193.78 people per 100,000 inhabitants and the highest single day ever recorded in Luxembourg. The positivity rate was 27.71%.

The average daily increase (over a 7-day period) is currently 477.29.

A total of 66 people are in hospital with the virus, including 19 patients in intensive care.

There are currently 7,258 active infections known, whilst a total of 94,316 people have recovered from the virus to date. The effective reproduction rate in Luxembourg stands at 1.23.

A total of 1,064,760 vaccinations have been carried out in Luxembourg to date (462,897 first doses, 402,334 second doses, 199,529 additional doses). A total of 443,524 people are now fully vaccinated.

The incidence rate (per 100,000 inhabitants) for unvaccinated individuals was 193.00; for vaccinated individuals, this was 194.15. These figures only take into consideration people who returned a positive PCR test.
