On Thursday 2 December 2021, Luxembourg's Ministry of Health reported 570 new COVID-19 (coronavirus) infections; there have been 879 fatalities (three new deaths since Wednesday) resulting from the virus to date.

570 Luxembourg residents tested positive on Thursday from a total of 5,750 tests carried out the day before, representing 89.80 people per 100,000 inhabitants. The positivity rate was 9.91%. Wednesday 18 November 2020 marked the record daily high of 891 new cases. 

The average daily increase (over a 7-day period) is currently 248.57. 

A total of 63 people are in hospital with the virus, including twelve patients in intensive care. 

There are currently 4,921 active infections known, whilst a total of 84,536 people have recovered from the virus to date. The effective reproduction rate in Luxembourg stands at 1.05.

A total of 920,149 vaccinations have been carried out in Luxembourg to date (447,319 first doses, 391,061 second doses, 81,769 additional doses). A total of 431,308 people are now fully vaccinated.
