On Friday 5 November 2021, Luxembourg's Ministry of Health reported 219 new COVID-19 (coronavirus) infections; there have been 849 fatalities (no new deaths since Thursday) resulting from the virus to date.
219 Luxembourg residents tested positive on Friday from a total of 3,133 tests carried out the day before, representing 34.50 people per 100,000 inhabitants. The positivity rate was 6.99%. Wednesday 18 November 2020 marked the record daily high of 891 new cases.
The average daily increase (over a 7-day period) is currently 165.29.
A total of 41 people are in hospital with the virus, including thirteen patients in intensive care.
There are currently 2,309 active infections known, whilst a total of 79,684 people have recovered from the virus to date. The effective reproduction rate in Luxembourg stands at 1.19.
A total of 841,249 vaccinations have been carried out in Luxembourg to date (436,367 first doses, 377,903 second doses, 26,979 additional doses). A total of 417,584 people are now fully vaccinated.

Since 24 August 2020, the Ministry of Health's published figures only include resident infection numbers, as opposed to earlier figures which included both residents and non-residents (i.e. cross-border workers).
