On Wednesday 22 September 2021, Luxembourg's Ministry of Health reported 141 new COVID-19 (coronavirus) infections; there have been 835 fatalities (one new death since Tuesday) resulting from the virus to date.
141 Luxembourg residents tested positive on Wednesday from a total of 2,089 tests carried out the day before, representing 22.21 people per 100,000 inhabitants. The positivity rate was 6.76%. Wednesday 18 November 2020 marked the record daily high of 891 new cases.
The average daily increase (over a 7-day period) is currently 58.14.
A total of 27 people are in hospital with the virus, including eight patients in intensive care.
There are currently 1,133 active infections known, whilst a total of 75,584 people have recovered from the virus to date. The effective reproduction rate in Luxembourg stands at 0.94.
A total of 780,427 vaccinations have been carried out in Luxembourg to date (416,295 first doses, 364,132 second doses). A total of 401,415 people are now fully vaccinated.

Since 24 August 2020, the Ministry of Health's published figures only include resident infection numbers, as opposed to earlier figures which included both residents and non-residents (i.e. cross-border workers).
