On Monday 20 September 2021, Luxembourg's Ministry of Health reported two new COVID-19 (coronavirus) infections; there have been 834 fatalities (no new deaths over the weekend) resulting from the virus to date.
Two Luxembourg residents tested positive on Monday from a total of 265 tests carried out the day before, representing 0.32 people per 100,000 inhabitants. The positivity rate was 0.75%. Wednesday 18 November 2020 marked the record daily high of 891 new cases.
The average daily increase (over a 7-day period) is currently 56.14.
A total of 26 people are in hospital with the virus, including nine patients in intensive care.
There are currently 1,039 active infections known, whilst a total of 75,467 people have recovered from the virus to date. The effective reproduction rate in Luxembourg stands at 0.98.
A total of 777,221 vaccinations have been carried out in Luxembourg to date (414,553 first doses, 362,668 second doses). A total of 399,589 people are now fully vaccinated.

Since 24 August 2020, the Ministry of Health's published figures only include resident infection numbers, as opposed to earlier figures which included both residents and non-residents (i.e. cross-border workers).
