On Thursday 2 September 2021, Luxembourg's Ministry of Health reported 77 new COVID-19 (coronavirus) infections; there have been 830 fatalities (no new deaths since 19 August) resulting from the virus to date.
77 Luxembourg residents tested positive on Thursday from a total of 4,648 tests carried out the day before, representing 12.13 people per 100,000 inhabitants. The positivity rate was 1.66%. Wednesday 18 November 2020 marked the record daily high of 891 new cases.
The average daily increase (over a 7-day period) is currently 56.00.
A total of 27 people are in hospital with the virus, including eight patients in intensive care.
There are currently 1,053 active infections known, whilst a total of 74,098 people have recovered from the virus to date. The effective reproduction rate in Luxembourg stands at 1.12.
A total of 764,330 vaccinations have been carried out in Luxembourg to date (407,669 first doses, 356,661 second doses). 392,367 people are now fully vaccinated.

Since 24 August 2020, the Ministry of Health's published figures only include resident infection numbers, as opposed to earlier figures which included both residents and non-residents (i.e. cross-border workers).
