On Monday 23 August 2021, Luxembourg's Ministry of Health reported 8 new COVID-19 (coronavirus) infections; there have been 830 fatalities (no new deaths since Friday) resulting from the virus to date.
8 Luxembourg residents tested positive on Monday from a total of 349 tests carried out the day before, representing 1.26 people per 100,000 inhabitants. The positivity rate was 2.29%. Wednesday 18 November 2020 marked the record daily high of 891 new cases.
The average daily increase (over a 7-day period) is currently 43.29.
A total of 20 people are in hospital with the virus, including five patients in intensive care.
As per figures from Friday 20 August 2021, there are currently 659 active infections known, whilst a total of 73,641 people have recovered from the virus to date. The effective reproductive rate in Luxembourg stands at 1.16.
A total of 753,907 vaccinations have been carried out in Luxembourg to date (403,156 first doses, 350,751 second doses); 100 individuals received their first dose of the vaccine and 6 received their second dose on Monday. A total of 385,634 people are now fully vaccinated.
The Health Ministry no longer communicates data relating to COVID-19 on weekends.

Since 24 August 2020, the Ministry of Health's published figures only include resident infection numbers, as opposed to earlier figures which included both residents and non-residents (i.e. cross-border workers).
