On Monday 9 August 2021, Luxembourg's Ministry of Health reported 2 new COVID-19 (coronavirus) infections; there have been 825 fatalities (one new death since Friday) resulting from the virus to date.
2 Luxembourg residents tested positive on Monday from a total of 263 tests carried out the day before, representing 41 people per 100,000 inhabitants. The positivity rate was 0.76%. Wednesday 18 November 2020 marked the record daily high of 891 new cases.
The average daily increase (over a 7-day period) is currently 39.00.
A total of 21 people are in hospital with the virus, including seven patients in intensive care.
As per figures from Thursday 5 August 2021, there are currently 779 active infections known, whilst a total of 72,791 people have recovered from the virus to date. The effective reproductive rate in Luxembourg stands at 0.96.
A total of 732,835 vaccinations have been carried out in Luxembourg to date (397,143 first doses, 335,692 second doses); 39 individuals received their first dose of the vaccine and o received their second dose on Sunday. A total of 369,201 people are now fully vaccinated.
The Health Ministry no longer communicates data relating to COVID-19 on weekends.

Since 24 August 2020, the Ministry of Health's published figures only include resident infection numbers, as opposed to earlier figures which included both residents and non-residents (i.e. cross-border workers).
