On Wednesday 4 August 2021, Luxembourg's Ministry of Health reported 101 new COVID-19 (coronavirus) infections; there have been 824 fatalities (two new deaths since Tuesday) resulting from the virus to date.

101 Luxembourg residents tested positive on Wednesday from a total of 5,183 tests carried out the day before, representing 15.91 people per 100,000 inhabitants. The positivity rate was 1.95%. Wednesday 18 November 2020 marked the record daily high of 891 new cases. 

The average daily increase (over a 7-day period) is currently 40.29. 

A total of 26 people are in hospital with the virus, including five patients in intensive care. 

As per figures from Tuesday 3 August 2021, there are currently 1,014 active infections known, whilst a total of 72,306 people have recovered from the virus to date. The effective reproductive rate in Luxembourg stands at 0.83.

A total of 717,418 vaccinations have been carried out in Luxembourg to date (394,669 first doses, 322,749 second doses); 299 individuals received their first dose of the vaccine and 1,968 received their second dose on Tuesday. 355,891 people are now fully vaccinated.
