On Wednesday 28 July 2021, Luxembourg's Ministry of Health reported 107 new COVID-19 (coronavirus) infections; there have been 822 fatalities (no new deaths since Monday) resulting from the virus to date.

107 Luxembourg residents tested positive on Wednesday from a total of 6,149 tests carried out the day before, representing 16.86 people per 100,000 inhabitants. The positivity rate was 1.74%. Wednesday 18 November 2020 marked the record daily high of 891 new cases. 

The average daily increase (over a 7-day period) is currently 56.29. 

A total of 22 people are in hospital with the virus, including three patients in intensive care. 

As per figures from Tuesday 27 July 2021, there are currently 1,291 active infections known, whilst a total of 71,631 people have recovered from the virus to date. The effective reproductive rate in Luxembourg stands at 0.87.

A total of 694,898 vaccinations have been carried out in Luxembourg to date (391,133 first doses, 303,765 second doses); 472 individuals received their first dose of the vaccine and 4,547 received their second dose on Tuesday. 336,173 people are now fully vaccinated.
