In response to a parliamentary question on Friday, Luxembourg's Minister of Health, Paulette Lenert, confirmed that the unvaccinated represented almost 94% of new COVID-19 infections over the past six months.

The Health Minister noted, in her response to Green Party (déi Gréng) MP Marc Hansen, that a total of 26,210 new infections had been reported in Luxembourg between 1 January and 22 July 2021.

Among those infected, 765 individuals (2.92%) were already fully vaccinated and 815 (3.11%) had received a first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine. The majority (24,630 people, or 93.97%) of new cases were detected among the unvaccinated population.
