On Wednesday 14 July 2021, Luxembourg's Ministry of Health reported 118 new COVID-19 (coronavirus) infections; there have been 819 fatalities (no new deaths since 6 July) resulting from the virus to date.
118 Luxembourg residents tested positive on Wednesday from a total of 6,300 tests carried out the day before, representing 18.59 people per 100,000 inhabitants. The positivity rate was 1.87%. Wednesday 18 November 2020 marked the record daily high of 891 new cases.
The average daily increase (over a 7-day period) is currently 74.57.
A total of ten people are in hospital with the virus, including three patients in intensive care.
As per figures from Tuesday 13 July 2021, there are currently 1,741 active infections known, whilst a total of 69,949 people have recovered from the virus to date. The effective reproductive rate in Luxembourg stands at 0.99.
A total of 626,289 vaccinations have been carried out in Luxembourg to date (377,294 first doses, 248,995 second doses); 2,724 individuals received their first dose of the vaccine and 2,494 received their second dose on Tuesday.
