Luxembourg's Ministry of State confirmed this afternoon that Prime Minister Xavier Bettel has left hospital after four days of treatment for COVID-19 at the Centre hospitalier de Luxembourg (CHL).
Given the improvement in his health, Prime Minister Xavier Bettel has been discharged from hospital. He was admitted to hospital on Sunday 4 July 2021 after contracting COVID-19 and remained under medical observation until around lunchtime on Thursday 8 July 2021.
The Prime Minister will resume his duties tomorrow, Friday 9 July 2021, when the signatory delegation granted to Minister of Finance, Pierre Gramegna, ends. Prime Minister Xavier Bettel will be teleworking for the rest of the week, after which his period of isolation will come to an end.
The Prime Minister thanked the CHL staff who cared for him in recent days for their professionalism, determination and enthusiasm, as well as all the health professionals who have been on the frontline during the fight against the virus for more than a year now.
