On Wednesday 7 July 2021, Luxembourg's Ministry of Health reported 201 new COVID-19 (coronavirus) infections; there has been one new death (the first since 1 June), bringing the death toll to 819.
201 Luxembourg residents tested positive on Wednesday from a total of 7,049 tests carried out the day before, representing 31.67 people per 100,000 inhabitants. The positivity rate was 2.85%. Wednesday 18 November 2020 marked the record daily high of 891 new cases.
The average daily increase (over a 7-day period) is currently 81.71.
A total of five people are in hospital with the virus, including one patient in intensive care.
As per figures from Tuesday 6 July 2021, there are currently 1,130 active infections known, whilst a total of 69,799 people have recovered from the virus to date. The effective reproductive rate in Luxembourg stands at 1.52.
A total of 593,078 vaccinations have been carried out in Luxembourg to date (358,842 first doses, 234,236 second doses); 3,892 individuals received their first dose of the vaccine and 3,631 received their second dose on Tuesday.
