On Friday 2 July 2021, Luxembourg's Ministry of Health reported 136 new COVID-19 (coronavirus) infections; there have been 818 fatalities (no new deaths since 1 June 2021) resulting from the virus to date.
136 Luxembourg residents tested positive on Friday from a total of 6,120 tests carried out the day before, representing 21.43 people per 100,000 inhabitants. The positivity rate was 2.22%. Wednesday 18 November 2020 marked the record daily high of 891 new cases.
The average daily increase (over a 7-day period) is currently 56.29.
A total of three people are in hospital with the virus, including one patient in intensive care.
As per figures from Thursday 1 July 2021, there are currently 463 active infections known, whilst a total of 69,750 people have recovered from the virus to date. The effective reproductive rate in Luxembourg stands at 1.84.
A total of 560,608 vaccinations have been carried out in Luxembourg to date (343,732 first doses, 216,876 second doses); 2,683 individuals received their first dose of the vaccine and 6,120 received their second dose on Thursday.
In view of the positive evolution of the health situation, the Health Ministry no longer communicates data relating to COVID-19 on weekends.

Since 24 August 2020, the Ministry of Health's published figures only include resident infection numbers, as opposed to earlier figures which included both residents and non-residents (i.e. cross-border workers).
