The number of people having tested positive for COVID-19 (coronavirus) in Luxembourg stands at 3,292 (up 11 from Sunday), including 69 fatalities (up 3 from 66) resulting from the virus, as of late afternoon on Monday 13 April 2020: the increase in confirmed cases from the virus over the last 24 hours (11) is the same as the previous day and is the joint lowest daily number recorded in the Grand Duchy since 16 March.
Of those people having tested positive for coronavirus to date, 2,694 are residents and 598 are non-residents. The average age of those testing positive is 46, with the ratio of men to women is 50.5% / 49.5%, while the median age of the victims (excluding one patient from the Grand Est) who lost their lives to the virus is 85. 211 people remain hospitalised at present in relation to COVID-19, including 33 patients (plus ten from the Grand Est) in intensive care. Nevertheless, 467 have been discharged from hospital.
Emergency services and healthcare for non-COVID-19-related ailments remain operational. On Friday, Health Minister Lenert added that hospitals and medical staff are well-equipped and available to take care of all patients.
Since the beginning of the crisis, Luxembourg has carried out a total of 29,315 tests (24,000 on residents, 5,315 on non-residents). The Grand Duchy is carrying out around six times as many tests (per population numbers) as neighbouring countries.
One word of caution concerning today's figures: the drive-in testing centres are closed on Sundays and bank holidays.
