Luxembourg's Ministry of Health has confirmed the diagnosis of twelve new coronavirus infections, thus bringing the total number of infections in the Grand Duchy to 19.
Of the twelve new cases, two were transmitted locally, according to a statement issued by the ministry earlier today, with one case reportedly being diagnosed at the Kirchberg site of Hôpitaux Robert Schuman Hospitals (HRS).
In the interest of protecting public health, the HRS is thus implementing the following precautionary measures on its Kirchberg site: strengthened access control at the main entrance; limited patient visits; reserved parking spaces for hospital staff only; and a substantial reduction of ambulatory consultations.
In light of the growing number of cases, including the two first locally contracted infections, Luxembourg's Prime Minister Xavier Bettel has convened an extraordinary Cabinet meeting this evening, dedicated to measures aimed at dealing with the spread of coronavirus.

The government has also recalled that anyone with symptoms of an infection (cough, fever or respiratory problems) and returning from a risk area should not go to the doctor or the emergency room, but instead call the above hotline or, in an emergency, tel.: 112. They should also refrain from visiting vulnerable people, i.e. those whose immune systems are weak.
