Luxembourg's Ministry of Health confirmed on Monday evening that a cross-border worker from France had tested positive for COVID-19 (coronavirus).

The Health Ministry reported that the person infected worked in Luxembourg but resided in France, where the infection occurred.

The individual in question is currently being treated in France, although Luxembourg's Health Directorate has confirmed that it is carrying out an investigation to find the people with whom the individual has been in contact on the national territory.

The Health Ministry has recalled that the public can consult the FAQ online at www.gouvernement.lu/coronavirus for general information and preventive measures to adopt. The public can also call the hotline via tel.: 8002-080.

The authorities have also recalled that anyone with symptoms of an infection (cough, fever or respiratory problems) and returning from a risk area should not go to the doctor or to the emergency room, but are encouraged instead to call the above hotline or, in an emergency, tel.: 112. Similarly, they are requested not to visit vulnerable people, i.e. those whose immune systems are weak.
