The National Reference Centre for the Promotion of Affective and Sexual Health, Cesas, has announced the launch of Luxembourg's first website dedicated to sexual health and contraception : macontraception.lu.

The launch forms part of the first national week of promoting emotional and sexual health, organised by Cesas. Previously, internet users had to consult the Belgian site for information on this subject. In order to meet the demand for more specific information in the Grand Duchy, Cesas has redesigned the website to adapt it to the Luxembourg context.

This project was developed in line with the contraceptive refund regulation that came into effect in August 2018. In a first phase, the website was reviewed by doctors and professionals from Planning Familial (family planning), the Centre hospitalier de Luxembourg, Hôpitaux Robert Schuman, ALEM and Cesas. The second phase of the project, planned for 2020, will be accompanied by the addition of tools and a comprehensive evaluation.

Cesas was created as part of the national programme for the promotion of emotional and sexual health, initiated and supported by four ministries: the Ministry of National Education, Childhood and Youth, the Ministry of Equal Opportunities, the Ministry of Family, Integration and the Greater Region and Ministry of Health. By bringing together topics, professionals, actors and sectors through a multidisciplinary approach, Cesas is accompanied in its development by Planning Familial, a microcosm of this diversity.

The website is currently available in French and German.
