On Thursday 22 October 2026, the Grand Ducal Police reported that it had arrested a suspect following a burglary at a residential property in Remich the previous evening.
According to the police, officers received a report of suspicious noises and lights inside a house on Rue de la Cité at around 19:45 on Wednesday 21 October 2026.
By the time the incident took place, the residents were not at home. A police patrol arrived at the property and discovered a smashed kitchen window. Officers spotted a person moving through several rooms inside the house.
During a subsequent search of the property, officers located and apprehended an individual in the garage. Police also seized pepper spray from the suspect.
On the orders of the Public Prosecutor's Office, the suspect was arrested and transferred to a detention facility ahead of an appearance before an investigating judge on the morning of Thursday 22 October 2026.
Investigations are ongoing.
