On Thursday 20 November 2025, Luxembourg's employment agency, ADEM, reported that there were 18,720 resident jobseekers available for work at the end of October 2025; the unemployment rate dropped from 6.1% back down to 5.9% over one month.

The number of available resident jobseekers registered with ADEM as of 30 October 2025 stood at 18,720, an increase of 427 people or 2.3% compared to October 2024. This increase particularly affected the most qualified jobseekers (higher education graduates; +9.4% over one year), jobseekers registered for twelve months or more (+5%) and jobseekers over the age of 45 (+4.1%). Regarding professions, the most significant increases continued to concern secretarial and administrative support and the IT sector. However, the year-on-year trend was more favourable for young jobseekers (-0.7%) - 3,697 in total as of 30 October.

The number of new jobseeker registrations remained stable; a total of 3,224 residents registered with ADEM in October 2025, representing a 0.4% increase compared to October 2024.

The number of resident jobseekers receiving full unemployment benefits decreased by 575 people or 5.5% over one year, to stand at 9,800 at the end of October 2025. This decrease is part of a downward trend observed since January 2025. A total of 4,397 individuals benefited from employment support measures, marking a drop of 2.2% compared to October 2024.

In October 2025, employers reported 3,141 vacant positions to ADEM, representing a decrease of 0.9% over one year. The accounting and construction sectors saw the largest decreases. However, the number of available jobs is now rising again - a reversal of the trend not seen since February 2023. Compared to October 2024, the number of available positions has increased by 7.8% to reach 7,218.

As of 30 October 2025, Luxembourg's seasonally adjusted unemployment rate, calculated by STATEC, stood at 5.9%.
