Sasha Baillie, the current CEO of Luxinnovation and a former diplomat, has been named the next Marshal of the Grand Ducal Court.
The news was confirmed first by Luxembourg's Prime Minister Luc Frieden during a press briefing on the afternoon of Friday 25 October 2024, and then shortly after in a press release from the Maison du Grand-Duc.
On the proposal of Grand Duke Henri and his son and Lieutenant Representative (Lieutenant-Représentant), Prince Guillaume, the Government Council (cabinet) on Friday ratified the appointment of Sasha Baillie as the next Marshal of the Court.
Ms Baillie will take over from Paul Dühr, who is set to retire, on 1 March 2025. She will remain head of Luxinnovation until this date.
As Prime Minister Frieden explained following Friday's cabinet meeting, Prince Guillaume, Hereditary Grand Duke and Lieutenant Representative, is in the process of building up his own team in line with his interests, which include innovation and new technologies. Prince Guillaume officially became the Lieutenant Representative of the Grand Duke on 8 October 2024, marking a first concrete step in the gradual transition of royal power in Luxembourg.
