The Fondation de Luxembourg has announced the recent addition of two new members to its Board of Directors, chaired by Henri Grethen: Danièle Wagener, Vice-President of the Œuvre Nationale de Secours Grande-Duchesse Charlotte, appointed in April 2021, and Yves Kuhn, former Chief Investment Officer (CIO) of Banque Internationale à Luxembourg (BIL), appointed in July 2021.
Danièle Wagener and Yves Kuhn succeed Mariette Goniva and François Pauly, who have both served on the board since 2018.
Created by the Luxembourg state and the Œuvre Nationale de Secours Grande-Duchesse Charlotte in December 2008, the Fondation de Luxembourg's mission is to encourage, support and guide donors who wish to make a long-term commitment to significant philanthropic projects. The foundation’s umbrella structure provides donors with a simplified framework in which to develop their philanthropic ambitions.
"I would like to sincerely thank Mrs Goniva and Mr Pauly for their dedication to the Fondation de Luxembourg over the past few years. Together with the other members, we now warmly welcome Mrs Wagener and Mr Kuhn to the Board and look forward to our future collaboration", commented Henri Grethen, President of the Fondation de Luxembourg.
Danièle Wagener has served as Vice-President of the Œuvre Nationale de Secours Grande-Duchesse Charlotte since 2019. Prior to her current position, she was the Director of the Villa Vauban for more than 30 years and of the Lëtzebuerg City Museum since its opening in 1996. Recognised for her experience and expertise in the cultural and artistic sector, she has been entrusted with several mandates in Europe, on expert committees such as the House of European History in Brussels or the Court of Justice of the European Union, as well as on boards, such as that of Mudam - The Contemporary Art Museum of Luxembourg, among others.
Yves Kuhn will bring an expertise acquired during nearly 30 years in the investment sector to the Board of Directors, notably in his last position as CIO of BIL. Originally from Luxembourg, his professional experiences have taken him abroad, working for renowned institutions in London and Zurich, such as Swisscanto AG and Pictet Asset Management.
