During a press conference on Monday, Luxembourg's Minister of Labour, Employment and the Social and Solidarity Economy, Dan Kersch, presented a new project set up by the government aimed at offering continuous training in the digital field to all people who were on short-time work (chômage partiel) between 1 January and 31 March 2021.

From 26 April 2021, the beneficiaries of this new measure will receive a letter with a personalised code in the post. This will allow them to download their training voucher worth €500 from the Guichet.lu portal. Those interested will be able to choose from 240 online training courses offered by 34 different training centres.

Minister Dan Kersch stressed: “With this measure, we want to strengthen the employability of the employees concerned and this through continuous training in the digital field. The qualifications of employees and job seekers must match the needs of businesses".

The online process for downloading the training voucher will be available from 3 May 2021 and has been set up with the support of the Government IT Centre (Centre des technologies de l'information de l'État - CTIE).
