The law firm Simmons & Simmons Luxembourg has announced the promotion of Cathrine Foldberg Møller to Partner as of 1 May 2021.
Cathrine Foldberg Møller, who was part of the team setting up the Simmons Luxembourg office in 2015, specialises in financial services regulation including banking and capital markets. She advises buy-side and sell-side market players on licensing requirements and their continuing obligations in connection with their provision of financial services. Cathrine is also involved in environmental, social and corporate governance (ESG) matters and is the chair of the Sustainable Finance working group of the Luxembourg Capital Markets Association.
Commenting on this promotion, Country Head Louis-Maël Cogis, said: "Cathrine's internal promotion to the partnership is an accomplishment of her hard work over the years. She can be proud of what she has achieved so far and, we are delighted to welcome her in the partnership".
At a firm level, Simmons has announced the promotion of thirteen lawyers to its global partnership. This is one of the firm's largest promotion rounds of the last decade. The new partners are from across eight offices, with twelve based in Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA) and the United Kingdom (UK) and one in Asia. As new partners they will focus on supporting the firm's clients across its four global sectors and on delivering smarter solutions in these challenging times. Six of this year's partner promotions are women, which combined with figures from the previous two years, means that nearly half (47%) of partner promotions over the last three years have been women.
Commenting on this promotion round, Senior Partner Colin Passmore, stated: "This is the last round of partner promotions that I will oversee. I am therefore pleased and proud to see that once more our target of promoting at least 40% new female partners has been exceeded - demonstrating our ongoing commitment to gender diversity. As for this year's successful partner candidates, I am impressed and excited by their quality and commitment to the firm. They have come through in exceptional times. Together, they demonstrate that our future is in very good hands".
