KPMG Luxembourg announced today that David Capocci has been elected as the next Managing Partner of the firm.

David Capocci will take the reins for a four-year term starting 1 October 2020. A six-month transition period working closely with current Managing Partner Philippe Meyer is expected to ensure a smooth transition and continuity.

Philippe Meyer, Managing Partner, commented: “With COVID-19 extending its reach around the world, David and I will be working together with our Crisis Response Committee to lead the firm in these unprecedented times. The safety of our people and communities remain our top priority and we are both committed to confronting this challenge alongside our wider leadership team”.

As Head of Alternative Investments, David Capocci has made a significant contribution to the growth of the Luxembourg firm advising asset managers and alternative investment funds in redefining their strategies. He has extensive experience helping private equity and real estate players establish a foothold in Europe and, more recently, in aligning their fund management organization with the AIFM Directive. As sustainable long-term investments take on a greater importance in the market, David Capocci’s experience guiding asset managers through their strategic transformation into alternative investments means he is well positioned to continue driving the firm’s contribution to the Luxembourg finance industry and community.

Commenting on the appointment, David Capocci said: “I am truly honoured to have been elected as Managing Partner and delighted at the trust my peers have placed in me. I am passionate about KPMG, and the role that our company plays in helping our clients, people and Luxembourg outshine their potential. The current situation is certainly testing for all of us, but seeing the entire Luxembourg ecosystem pull together to face the challenge has only bolstered my faith in our combined abilities, our dedicated people, and in our future". He added: "My aim is to build on the excellent work of Philippe and the firm to overcome this adversity, bringing forward a new era founded on understanding, innovation, and accountability. My focus in the future will be harnessing the large range of our capabilities – such as new technologies in Lighthouse along with our leading audit, tax, and advisory offerings - to help our clients solve their most complex challenges, with a commitment to the highest levels of quality and integrity”.

Current Managing Partner Philippe Meyer added: “I would like to extend my congratulations to David on his election as the next Managing Partner. During my four-year term, we celebrated 30 years of KPMG in Luxembourg. I am proud to have spent three decades with this firm dedicating my efforts to making it a great place to work- a place with purpose and values. David’s leadership will maintain public trust in the firm and ensure that its core values are placed at the center of our agenda. Integrity and accountability have been at the heart of my leadership ethic and will be my legacy to the firm. I am confident that David will continue upholding these values. I am more than ever committed to the audit profession in Luxembourg both at KPMG and in my role as Chairman of the Institut des Réviseurs d’Entreprises”.
