Yves Stein, newly appointed CEO of Edmond de Rothschild (Europe);

With almost 30 years of private banking experience in Europe and Switzerland, Luxembourg national Yves Stein has been appointed CEO of Edmond de Rothschild (Europe) as of 1 May 2019.

Throughout his career, the 56-year-old Luxembourger has contributed actively to expanding internationally renowned private banking businesses. Yves Stein is replacing Bernard Coucke, who significantly contributed to the Edmond de Rothschild (Europe) teams over the past three years and is leaving the Group to focus on new projects.

For his part, Yves Stein has broad international experience at a number of private banks. He began his career at Banque Générale du Luxembourg where he worked from 1987 until 2000, firstly in corporate banking and marketing and then as Fund Services General Manager. He continued his career at Fortis from 2000 until 2009 where he was nominated Fortis Private Banking Group CEO before becoming Wealth Management CEO at BNP Paribas (Switzerland) SA. He then joined Union Bancaire Privée in 2010 as CEO of UBP (Europe) SA in Luxembourg.

In 2013, he joined the KBL EPB group as Group Private banking CEO before being appointed Group CEO and board member in 2014. Since 2018, he has been an independent strategy & transformation advisor for financial institutions. As a board member at Edmond de Rothschild (Europe) since 2018, he is very familiar with the company and its key issues.
