50 Start-ups to Compete for €150k Prize in Fit 4 Start Competition

Kinepolis Kirchberg will host the spring edition of the Fit 4 Start Selection and Graduation Day on Thursday 28 March 2019.

50 start-ups from all over the world will pitch before the jury of the acceleration programme managed by Luxinnovation. The results of the ten selected projects will be announced in the evening.

Fit 4 Start's Selection and Graduation Day has become a key event on Luxembourg's start-up ecosystem agenda, bringing together start-ups from all over the world twice a year to present their projects before a jury of experts. For the 8th Fit 4 Start edition, open to companies active in the ICT sector, ten candidates out of 50 will finally be selected to benefit from four months of intensive coaching and financial support of up to €150,000. This event is also the opportunity to get to know the graduate start-ups of the Fit 4 Start 7th edition that started in the autumn of 2018.

Out of the 221 applications received at the beginning of the year, 50 start-ups were pre-selected. Luxembourg is particularly well represented, since half of these projects come from the Grand Duchy. However, this pre-selection remains very international with the 50 applications come from fourteen countries, including Italy, Great Britain and Spain, but also Japan, the United States, Australia and Taiwan. Diversity is also important with regard to the technologies. Artificial intelligence is well represented with eleven start-ups. There are also companies active in the Internet of Things, FinTech, blockchain, big data and cybersecurity. In addition, the event will feature seven projects from female entrepreneurs.
