On Friday 31 October 2025, the Luxembourg Confederation of Christian Trade Unions (LCGB) announced that, following the merger of the communes of Bous and Waldbredimus in southeastern Luxembourg in September 2023, it had signed a first collective agreement covering around 20 employees.

The LCGB reported that constructive social dialogue between the local council and the LCGB, with the support of staff representatives, led to the agreement. The collective agreement aims to harmonise working conditions and ensure fairness for all employees, regardless of their administrative origin.

The LCGB noted that the agreement establishes a common framework regarding pay, working hours, leave, training and several adjustments and improvements designed to modernise certain existing provisions, with the aim of guaranteeing a stable, fair and motivating working environment for all employees.

The agreement will apply for a period of three years, from 1 January 2026 to 31 December 2028.
