On Tuesday 7 October 2025, the Luxembourg Confederation of Christian Trade Unions (LCGB) announced the launch of “Service Senior Plus”, a new assistance and advisory service for seniors, which has been in operation since Wednesday 1 October 2025.

According to the LCGB, the service is designed to assist senior members with administrative and social procedures and is open to individuals seeking guidance on matters such as social security, pensions, long-term care and other daily concerns.

The Union added that, “in an increasingly complex administrative environment,” the initiative seeks to provide accessible, multilingual and personalised support for seniors. Service Senior Plus offers practical assistance and guidance on a range of topics, including:

  • renewal of driving licences;
  • procedures with social security institutions (such as affiliation rules for Luxembourg or foreign systems, health insurance (CNS) matters including hospital treatment abroad and rehabilitation, long-term care insurance (AD), pension insurance (CNAP) and National Solidarity Fund (FNS) applications);
  • support in the event of the death of a relative;
  • questions related to pension taxation;
  • advice in cases of over-indebtedness.

By introducing Service Senior Plus, the LCGB aims to ensure fair access to information and administrative services, which are often considered complex or discouraging for older people. The service can be contacted by email at seniorplus@lcgb.lu or via tel.: 49 94 24 200 and 691 733 079.
