On Saturday 22 February 2025, Tornado Luxembourg played their final regular season match in Group A of Division 2 of the French Ice Hockey Championship (FFHG) against Dragons de Rouen 2.

Christer Eriksson’s team fought for fifth place in the final standings against Renards d'Orléans, who occupied sixth position, trailing by just two points. The guests from Rouen, who visited the Kockelscheuer ice rink, had already secured the final playoff spot in eighth place, with no possibility of either climbing higher or losing their position.

Towards the start of the game, in the fourth minute, Tornado Luxembourg delighted their fans as Antoine Thomas scored, putting them ahead. However, the guests from Rouen quickly responded, taking the lead just seven minutes later. First, Nicolas Lechevallier scored, followed by Owen Fossey, who also found the net. However, Julien Vogt managed to level the score before the break - 2:2.

In the second period, Tornado established a solid three-goal lead. Nolan Eriksson netted a hat-trick, while Cannon Colm, playing his 200th match for the team, also found the back of the net. Rouen responded with a goal from Leo Quemion and, at the end of the second period, Christer Eriksson’s team led 6:3.

The game took a dramatic turn in the third period, as Rouen turned the tide. In the first five minutes, Arthur Mattioni and Paul Le Lem brought the deficit down to just one goal. Towards the end of the game, Nicolas Lechevallier and Thomas Boisson scored within six seconds to give Rouen the lead and secure a 7:6 away victory.

The defeat marked the seventh loss for Tornado Luxembourg in the regular season record. However, they still secured fifth place, as Renards d'Orléans also lost, falling 5:7 at home to the bottom-placed team Dijon.

Christer Eriksson’s team’s current record stood at seven regulation wins, two overtime wins, two overtime losses and seven regulation defeats, accumulating a total of 27 points. The regular season is now over.

In the playoffs, Tornado Luxembourg will face Vipers de Montpellier, who finished fourth in Group B of Division 2 of the French Ice Hockey Championship (FFHG). The first match will take place at the Kockelscheuer ice rink on Saturday 1 March 2025 at 19:00.
