The Luxembourg Ice Hockey Federation will send its U18 team to the IIIB World Championship tournament, taking place from 9 to 12 April 2019 in Cape Town, South Africa.

The last time a Luxembourg U18 team participated in such a tournament was in 2000. Team Luxembourg contains players from three different clubs: Huskies, Knights and Tornado. The age range is pretty wide with the youngest team members being just 14 years old while the eldest having just turned 18.

The team will play three games: against Hong Kong on Tuesday 9 April at 14:00; against Taiwan on Wednesday 10 April at 14:00; against South Africa on Friday 12 April at 18:00  In the tournament. According to the Luxembourg Ice Hockey Federation's scouting reports, Taiwan should be the hardest opponent. Last year, they played tight games in the higher level and even managed to win one. Also, their key players from the last tournament are still in the age that they can take part this tournament.

Team Luxembourg's strength may be the fact that many of the players are already used to playing games at the senior level with Tornado, Beaufort Knights, senior national team and also with Huskies in the Lux Cup. One weakness could be that they lack experience at this level.
