An Evening Of New York Songs And Stories; Credit: Suzanne Vega

US singer-songwriter Suzanne Vega will be performing live in the courtyard of the renaissance castle in Beaufort, in eastern Luxembourg, on 2 May 2020 at 20:00.

The performance forms part of the concert series "Rock 'n' Classics" and Suzanne Vega's Europe tour following the release of her new album "An Evening of New York Songs and Stories" (Cooking Vinyl). The album sees Suzanne Vega revive her New York-focused repertoire in a live recording featuring long-time guitarist Gerry Leonard, bassist Jeff Allen and keyboarder Jamie Edwards.

Recorded in early 2019 at the New York Café Carlyle, the album features well-known songs such as "Luka" and "Tom's Diner" as well as lesser known works such as "Frank and Ava" and "Ludlow Street". The repertoire mix also includes "New York Is My Destination" and a cover of Lou Reed's "Walk on the Wild Side ". The album was produced by Gerry Leonard, mixed by Grammy Award winner Kevin Killen and mastered by fellow Grammy Award winner Bob Ludwig.

Considered one of the leading songwriters of her generation, Suzanne Vega became one of the lead figures of the folk music revival of the early 1980s. Since the release of her self-titled, critically acclaimed 1985 debut album, she has written and recorded many songs that have become part of the vernacular of contemporary music.

Tickets for this concert cost €46.50 and are available from https://www.luxembourg-ticket.lu/en/8/eid,25114/suzanne-vega.html.
