On Tuesday 28 October 2025, Luxembourg-based regulatory technology and advisory firm MAQIT SA held its ten-year anniversary celebrations, in the presence of Luxembourg’s Minister of Finance, Gilles Roth, and Minister for Digitalisation and Minister for Research and Higher Education, Stéphanie Obertin, at Um Plateau in Luxembourg-Ville.

Originally founded in 2015 as BHS Services and rebranded to MAQIT in 2017, the company was established to “bridge regulation and IT” and “shift the perspective of compliance from burden to a catalyst for change”.

The celebratory event consisted of a walking dinner and networking drinks, and included speeches from Minister Roth and, via a pre-recorded video, Deputy Prime Minister Xavier Bettel.

Minister Roth said: "[MAQIT] help firms comply, stay compliant and compete. You help other companies grow locally but also internationally. That’s exactly the Luxembourg value proposition.”

Minister Bettel said: “Over the past decade, MAQIT has grown into a remarkable example of Luxembourg's innovative spirit. […] Today, MAQIT stands as a leader in regulatory IT and AML, simplifying complexity and supporting institutions with cutting-edge solutions and trusted advice. What strikes most is not only your professional achievements, but also the values you embody – diversity, dedication and vision.[…] You are not only part of our economy, but also part of our national story of digital innovation and excellence.”

Managing Partner, Digital Transformation & ICT Regulatory at MAQIT, Luc Maquil, said: "For the way forward I see our story to continue for many years. We will not have time to rest. We will target to further develop our Luxembourg and EU market presence and position Luxembourg as a preferred location in the EU for worldwide fintech players coming from Asia, UK, the US and beyond. We are determined and excited to continue.”

When discussing the importance of compliance within the industry and the opportunities it represents, Thierry André, Partner AML Compliance at MAQIT, remarked: “Compliance brings structure where there is complexity, and clarity where there is uncertainty. It forces organisations to ask the right questions — about their clients, their partners, their data, and their impact. In doing so, it lays the groundwork for better decisions, stronger governance, and more resilient business models. It also drives transparency — which is the foundation of trust. And trust is what unlocks access: to markets, to capital, to partnerships. In a world where reputation is everything, compliance becomes a passport to growth. That’s the shift we’re seeing: compliance as an enabler. It drives transparency, fosters innovation, and opens doors to new opportunities. It’s not just about avoiding risk — it’s about unlocking value."
